Description

The Carol Burnett Show (CBS-TV, 1971), Guest-Star Dom DeLuise Bespoke Director's Chair with Signed Card. Vintage original collapsible wooden director's chair, measuring 31" x 18" x 23" (opened), used on the set of The Carol Burnett Show, which ran from 1967 until 1978. Seat bottom is screened with Burnett's indelibly iconic and immediately recognizable "Charwoman" tragi-comic character, and seat back is screened "DOM DeLUISE" for his one guest appearance, in Season 5, Episode 5, "Peggy Lee and Dom DeLuise". The IMDb summation of the episode's events is curt and classic for these unique, incredibly gifted talents: "Peggy Lee and Carol sing 'Is That All There Is?'" with Carol taking a fall at the end. Dom DeLuise breaks a lot of glass." The painted-white wood frame remains structurally sound, with properly functioning hinges for storage collapsing, and exhibits mild to moderate rubbing to extremities, presumed from continued use by DeLuise after production. The seat portion is stretched with a single dip at back edge, and double dip at front from his legs, and there is a .5" tear starting at left front edge from this continued personal use. Originally acquired directly from DeLuise from his personal collection, and accompanied by his signature and self-caricature sketch on one of his "Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing" bookplates. Comes with full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
