The Art of Skiing (Walt Disney, 1941), "Goofy" Framed Production Cel with Courvoisier Background. Vintage original framed production cel setup with painted Courvoisier background featuring the ever-lovable Goofy from the first of his "How To" shorts, The Art of Skiing. The plexiglass and wooden frame measures 15.5" x 15.5" with a 1" black border, 3.25" textured white and red matte, and an 8.75" x 8.75" presentation window and wired hanger on the reverse. Features an original hand-inked and hand-painted cel of Goofy precariously perched atop a narrow mountain peak, hunched over his skis. Cel is presented on a Courvoisier custom hand-painted background with the Walt Disney Productions stamp appearing faintly in the lower left corner. Debuting on November 14, 1941, this Jack Kinney-directed short saw Goofy on vacation at the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, inspired by a real-life location. Displays general age and handling wear with light scuffing to the border of the frame. Cel displays light warping and is unexamined out of frame. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
