How to Speak Southern (Book, 1976), Signed by Ringo Starr and Christmas Card Addressed to Terry and Nile Southern. Original pair of items inscribed to Terry and Nile Southern from Ringo Starr, including (1) copy of How to Speak Southern by Steve Mitchell inscribed and annotated throughout by the Beatles drummer, and (1) Christmas card from Apple Studios with a personal inscription in Starr's hand. Inside the book, Starr has written: "To Terry / Just a little / something for / you to read. / Hope you like / it Love / Ringo + Nancy / + Brian?" On the "S" section, he adds: "P.S. Did you get Nile his piano?", followed by "P.P.S. Love to Gail xxx." On the inside back cover, he continues: "P.P.P.S. What happened with the book you were going to write about the hookers of N.Y. N.Y.?" and "P.P.P.P.S. Take good care of yourself we love you Ringo and Nancy xxx." The accompanying Apple Studios Christmas card is addressed to "Terry and Nile" and written and signed by Hilary and Ringo. Book measures approx. 7.2" x 4.2", and card measures 7.25" x 5". Book exhibits fading, age, staining, and light tearing to the picture section on the back cover and card shows light staining.
