Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) Tyrion's Wedding Ensemble from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 3). Original (3) piece character ensemble including (1) gold and metallic gray jacquard cassock-style coat with stand collar, cape sleeves, and 2-gold-toned metal lion clasps at the neck (with "Joffrey" bias label), (1) silk shirt with matching jacquard sleeves and tie front closure (with "Joffrey" bias label), and (1) gray-lilac velvet sash with gold organza lining that drapes over the left shoulder. Worn by Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) in Season 3, Episode 8, "Second Sons," when he cruelly takes away Tyrion Lannister's (Peter Dinklage) stool at his wedding to Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and harasses his uncle for the rest of the day. Costume designer Michele Clapton explained, "We designed Joffrey's tunic to be both beautiful and intimidating. The rich fabrics and detailed embroidery reflect his royal status, but the rigid structure of the tunic also suggests his oppressive nature." Jack Gleeson reflected, "Joffrey's actions during the wedding were a direct display of his vindictiveness and his desire to humiliate Tyrion at any cost." Ensemble exhibits production wear.
