Bob Marley & the Wailers 1979 Honolulu, Hawaii Concert Poster. An original black & white glossy-paper concert poster for the reggae master himself, Bob Marley with his Wailers, playing at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 1979. Truly an afternoon show because it declares "Reggae! 'Til Sunset." Really snappy B&W design with Marley in action on stage. Heritage has sold this poster only once before, and back in the spring it brought $4,250. Measures 17" x 23" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Poster has a good amount of surface creasing to its highly glossy surface, which is to be expected unless a poster like this is in a flat file for 50 years. The two ‘strongest' (if you can call it that) creases are between the "A" and "R" of "Marley" up at the top, leaving the tiniest little white line, and above "Marley" in the bottom margin, pretty much indistinguishable. All the action is viewable when the poster's held at an angle to the light. The two bottom corners got a little bit nudged, so the lower right one has both quarter-inch and half-inch creases, but not coming anywhere near the black. Verso has a couple of small ‘tape lifts' from when the poster was posted.
