B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf 1969 Ann Arbor Blues Fest Poster Signed by B.B. An original advertising poster printed on card stock for the historic 1969 Ann Arbor Blues Festival in Michigan taking place from Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 3. A who's who of blues musicians filled the weekend including B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, T-Bone Walker, John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Big Mama Thornton, Freddie King and Mississippi Fred McDowell, plus others. It was a stunning and possibly unprecedented talent line-up to inaugurate this blues festival, the first of at least a couple Ann Arbor Blues Fests going forward on an annual basis. All printing is done in red on a silver foil-like finish. The image of a blues musician we feel is a generic composite, not one specific guitarist. Our consignor attended the weekend, pulled down this poster beforehand and had Mr. King autograph it at a later date. Measures 18 5/8" x 24 1/2" and grades to Very Good condition. More Information: Poster has thumbtack holes in all four corners, and creases to those corners as well. There are light white flecks or spots throughout the silver from scuffing and storage for half a century; examples would be under the sun and in the artist line-up box. The poster's right margin from top to bottom has the most surface creases and damage, especially to the right of "House" and "Cant". B.B. King's signature may be a little faded, or it could've just been a marker near the end of its life. There's also a scratch in the silver that goes into the second "B" of his autograph. Verso is toned with age, along with a little subtle watermarking along the bottom edge.
