To Catch a Thief (Paramount, 1955), Costume Sketch of Grace Kelly "Frances Stevens" White Gown for the Fireworks Sequence by Edith Head. Vintage original To Catch a Thief (1955) costume sketch accomplished in gouache, graphite and ink on 14" x 16.5" artist's paper by legendary costume designer Edith Head. Beautiful mixed-media illustration of Frances Stevens (Grace Kelly) in a Grecian-style white gown worn by her during the iconic "fireworks" scene with John Robie (Cary Grant). Written in pencil at the top left corner is "Grace Kelly/ "To Catch A Thief"/ 1955". Signed by Head at the bottom right corner. Head was nominated for an Oscar for this film for Best Costume Design, Color. Sketch exhibits expected minor age and production handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
