Porgy and Bess (Columbia, 1959), Sammy Davis, Jr., "Sportin' Life" Signature Houndstooth Suit. Vintage original (2) piece black and white houndstooth suit including (1) jacket with peaked lapel with black velvet upper, 2-hip flap pockets, 1-chest slash pocket, with black piping on lower lapel and chest pocket, lined with striped rose silk and (1) pair matching pants with button front closure and cuffed hems. Both items retain the internal Western Costume bias label typed, "Sammy Davis Jr." with WC ink stamp on interior pants waistband and jacket sleeve. Exhibiting handling and wear with seam rip at lining bottom and crude interior repairs. Provenance: Profiles in History, "Hollywood 2018", June 5, 2018, Lot 1369.
