Get Smart (CBS TV, 1965-1970), Don Adams "Maxwell Smart" Signature Shoe Phone . Vintage original shoe phone prop used by Maxwell Smart (Don Adams), the single-most recognizable gag prop in the original Get Smart television series. Constructed from an actual black leather right foot saddle shoe and customized with a rotary phone dial embedded in the sole toe area with a speaker/receiver component beneath the heel area, with heel removed and not present. The interior of the shoe is partitioned off at the tongue to create a compartment for the inset rotary dial. This type of comedic spy-tech prop was created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry for the iconic series, along with a litany of other ingenious prop devices, and became emblematic of the kind of physical gag comedy that defined the spoof series. Alongside this item is a signed publicity photo from the 1989 made-for-television movie Get Smart, Again! and signed, "Don Adams / "86"" in black felt tip.
