Description

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (Lucasfilm, 2005), Production Made R4-G9 Astromech Droid Dome. Crafted of fiberglass and resin over a wooden base, with plastic lenses, painted in bronze, copper and black to appear as distressed metal. One of the sensors is a separate piece set within a loose ball and socket to allow slight movement. The underside of the dome is hollow and unfinished. This dome was built as a backup that was never used on screen. The convex "eye" and surrounding square bezel were crafted and installed post-production. R4-G9 is the astromech droid assigned to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). Dome measures 18" x 18" x 11" and exhibits some scuffing and handling.
