Description

Ray Harryhausen "Cyclops" Model Kit Assembled and Painted by Guillermo del Toro. This expertly assembled and painted X-Plus 1/35 scale model kit features Ray Harryhausen's iconic Cyclops from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (Columbia, 1958). The legendary creature stands menacingly with spiked club in hand, accompanied by a caged human figure and a hanging skeleton-details that evoke the rich fantasy worlds Harryhausen was known for. What makes this piece truly exceptional is its creator: acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who personally assembled and painted the model. As part of his Sunday morning tradition at Bleak House-his famed creative haven-del Toro invites fellow directors for breakfast and model making, blending camaraderie with craft. The paintwork on this Cyclops is nothing short of masterful, showcasing del Toro's deep admiration for Harryhausen and his own artistry as both a visual storyteller and model enthusiast. Measures 8" x 9.5" x 7". Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.

"I wanted to include something 'made in Bleak House' as so many objects get repaired, restored, or built in the house. I have painted a few Harryhausen models, and this was one of the most pleasant builds. I recorded its assembly and paint on social media at the time." From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
