Charles Schulz Collection of (8) Signed Personal Letters (ca. 1948-1981). Collection of (8) signed letters from legendary Peanuts creator Charles Schulz to fans and fellow artists including (1) typed on 8.5" x 11" typing paper from Schulz to fellow cartoonist "Al Vermeer" in praise of his "Priscilla's Pop" comic strip and signed, "Charles M. Schulz" with original "Priscilla's Pop" daily strip, dated 6-14-1947, accomplished in pen and ink on 20.5" x 6.5" artist cardstock, (1) typed letter to "Eddie Jones" on 8.5" x 11" Schulz personal letterhead featuring Peanuts characters, dated April 24, 1958, giving advice to a young cartoonist advising him to read, and study, and draw, signed "Charles Schulz", (1) handwritten thank-you note to "Chris Blum" by Charles Schulz on 6.25" x 7" personal letterhead, postmarked May 26, 1966, signed "Sparky," with original envelope, (1) typed letter on 8.5" x 11" Peanuts letterhead, dated March 2, 1971, to "Jim Ivey," in which Schulz expresses concern over editorial cartoonists using his Peanuts characters for political commentary, signed "Sparky," (1) early 3-page typed letter from Schulz during his time as a correspondence art instructor at Art Instruction Inc., on company letterhead, offering detailed critique to a student, signed "Charles M. Schulz," (1) handwritten letter on 8.5" x 11" typing paper to fan "Mrs. Poole," answering a question about the musical interests of Peanuts character "Schroeder," signed "Charles M. Schulz," with original envelope, (1) typed letter on 8.5" x 11" Peanuts letterhead, dated August 11, 1958, to "Mr. Kinney," in which Schulz shares his excitement about participating in Peanuts animation, signed "Charles M. Schulz," and (1) typed letter on 6.5" x 7" goldenrod personal letterhead to "Mike Pratt" of Random House, thanking him and the team for a "get well" card, signed "Sparky." All items retain original transmittal folds and exhibits age, handling and soiling.
