To Catch a Thief (Paramount, 1955), Grace Kelly "Frances Stevens" Ball Gown & Masquerade Party Guests Pair of (2) Costume Sketches by Edith Head. Vintage original costume sketches accomplished in gouache and ink on 14" x 17" artist's paper by legendary costume designer Edith Head. The first illustration depicts the iconic gold ball gown worn by Frances Stevens (Grace Kelly) during the masquerade ball. Unsigned. The second illustration depicts two background attendees of the masquerade ball standing astride. Inscribed at the upper left "Mas. Party ext. #22a 'Catch a Thief'" and signed by Head at the bottom right. Edith Head was nominated for an Oscar for Best Costume Design for this picture. Each sketch exhibits age and production handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
