Creighton Chaney [Lon, Jr.] Signed Photo from Lodge Cunningham Estate (Various, 1930s). Vintage original 7.5" x 9.5" gelatin-silver photograph of a very young Lon Chaney, Jr. before his name change from Creighton. Photo is signed and inscribed "For Lodge: If I don't become a plumber and I do become an actor I can never hope for any finer help on my dialogue or real cooperation than I have received from you. Creighton Chaney". The truth is, Creighton was well on his way to a career in plumbing supplies when his legendary father died rather unexpectedly, at which point Creighton was called into service by various studios. Trimmed slightly unevenly, likely from 8" x 10" original size, and with verso toning and adhesive patches from scrapbook removal, which does not show on recto. From the estate of innovative, legendary sound and technical engineer Lodge Cunningham, whose industry career spans six decades, from the height of the silent era all the way to Green Acres on television. Comes with an LOA from PSA.
