Lew Anderson "Clarabell the Clown" Vintage Seltzer Bottle from the era of The Howdy Doody Show (NBC, 1947-1960). Screen-used prop element of Lew Anderson as "Clarabell the Clown" from the era of the pioneering children's series The Howdy Doody Show. Included is the gun metal and aluminum seltzer bottle. Lew Anderson was the third and last person to play the seltzer-bottle wielding Clarabell, from 1954 until the series' final episode on September 24, 1960 as the first nationally broadcast weekday children's show. The silent clown communicated with two horns (one happy and one sad), and his seltzer bottle was usually the last word in an argument: Buffalo Bob: "Clarabell, do you want me to embarrass you by scolding you in front of the Peanut Gallery?" Clarabell: SQUIRT! Acquired from Mr. Lew Anderson. Exhibits scratching, light scuffs, and paint loss, but remains Very Good, as production used.
