A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (United Artists, 1966), Group of (12) Costume Design Artworks. Original group of (12) costume designs by Tony Walton rendered in ink and watercolor on art paper measuring 10.25" x 20.25" to 30" x 22". These twelve pieces represent the original costume designs Walton created for the film version of the hit Broadway musical. Artworks feature several main characters, some designated with the actor who played the role: (2) Marcus Lycus (Phil Silvers), (3) Vibrata and Tintinabula (Myrna White and Helen Funai), (1) The Geminae (The Baker Twins), and six additional designs of featured and background characters. Some designs include Walton's notes on sizing and color with remnants of original fabric swatches. This is an incredible collection of the artist's work offering a rare glimpse into his creative process. Artwork is in production used condition including creasing, tearing, edgewear, and smudging throughout. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
