DC Superman Statuette Loose (Multi Products, Inc., 1942). Issued in 1942 by Multi Products, Inc., this Superman statuette stands as one of the earliest examples of superhero merchandising ever produced. Sculpted from a wood composition material known as "syroco," the figure captures the Man of Steel in his classic heroic stance-hands on hips, cape sweeping behind him-with hand-painted details that embody the bold simplicity of Golden Age design. Condition shows age-appropriate wear consistent with the fragile composition medium, including scattered surface cracking, paint loss, and minor chipping typical of early 1940s production. A cornerstone piece in the history of comic book collectibles, this early Superman figure represents the dawn of superhero licensing-when America's first costumed hero leapt from the comic page into three-dimensional form.
