Description
Blade II (New Line, 2002), Wesley Snipes "Blade" Screen Used Hero Oversized Illuminating UV Bomb. Spheroid prop UV bomb/grenade expertly crafted of aluminum, resin, blue acrylic lenses with blue LED lights beneath and internal wiring. Finished in dark gray and faux silver with copper-coil detailing. A black button activates the LED lights and single-end dome features pie-shaped segments each with an LED light designed to illuminate one after another to mimic a countdown sequence. Created by Scud (Norman Reedus), these ultraviolet grenades were used by Blade (Wesley Snipes) and the Bloodpack, the vampire council's elite team, to combat the Reapers, a dangerous new swarming breed of vampires vulnerable to ultraviolet light. This hero prop was built to a larger scale for close-up shots. Battery is exhausted and electronics untested. Measures 6" x 5.25". Accompanied by (6) 8.5" x 11" production copies of UV Bomb schematics and single photocopy storyboard of the UV Bomb/Grenade in an explosion sequence. Exhibits production wear with light scuffing to paint finish. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions."I have used oversized props rarely (here and Hellboy II, the prince Nuada's giant hand and egg), but I love it. I used this one to be able to mechanize and rig the effects physically and shoot it on camera." From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
