Sylvester Stallone "Rocky Balboa" Screen Used Iconic Black Rubber Handball from Rocky and Rocky II (United Artists, 1976, 1979). Vintage original commercial black rubber handball, stamped with blue text reading "Official / Seamless / 555." Measuring 2" round.
This important, hard rubber handball prop was used on screen by "Rocky" (Stallone) in the first two Rocky films. Kept in his pocket during many scenes.
"This ball was very symbolic in Rocky's life. It's the only thing that he really had that would take his mind off of his problems," Stallone told us. "He'd be bouncin' the ball, almost in a meditative state, so it became part of his persona. And they don't even make these kind of balls anymore - they're impossible to find today, so it's a piece of history now."
Exhibiting minor age and production wear. In Fine condition. Provenance: Heritage Auctions "Stallone - The Auction" December 18 - 20, 2015, Los Angeles, Lot 89003 and sold for $32,500. Comes with a LOA from Sylvester Stallone/Heritage Auctions.
