Description

Hamilton's Invaders Giant Set - Boxed (Remco, 1964). Remco's bug-war epic was a perfect snapshot of 1964: TV-driven marketing, Saturday-matinee monster thrills, and spring-motor mayhem that needed no batteries. The Giant Set brings the whole tableau into one window box-gruesome beetle and spider creeping on pull strings, a hornet helicopter that cranks and drops bombs, the Dwarf Tank, and Mosquito Jeep that elevate and "fire," and a squad of Blue Defenders to hold the line-an irresistibly graphic presentation that explains why the short-lived line built such a cult following. The box shows heavy edge and corner wear with overall scuffing, creasing, veining, and age-yellowing; there is waviness consistent with possible past moisture exposure. The window is scuffed but intact and still attached. The box has been opened, and the interior tray display has clearly been reset; many included pieces appear to be in played-with/used condition. See images for further condition details. Items are sold as is. For collectors of mid-century monster sci-fi, a Giant Set in its display box is the Hamilton's Invaders experience in one dramatic hit-art, action, and that unmistakable 1964 energy. It's a big, graphic survivor from a one-season phenomenon, and a centerpiece that bridges toy soldiers and creepy-crawly cinema in the most charming way. If you've been waiting to add Hamilton's horde to your shelves, this is the moment to rally your Blue Defenders and beware of Them!
