Indian Chief and Squaw Plastic Model Kits (Aurora, 1957). Stepping out of the pages of mid-century Americana, the Indian Chief and Indian Squaw plastic model kits stand as early examples of Aurora's foray into historical figure modeling. Released in 1957 as kit number 212-2.49, this pair of 1/8 scale figures showcases Aurora's ambition to go beyond tanks and planes, offering a culturally reflective snapshot of frontier life. The Indian Chief is sculpted in a commanding pose, adorned with a feathered headdress, spear, and shield, while the Indian Squaw is captured standing by a campfire, lending a quiet, domestic counterbalance. Each kit was originally packaged with its own tube of cement, paint, and brush-providing a complete hobby experience straight from the box.

This particular set includes both figures with unused contents, all housed in their original Aurora bags. One hand holding a spear has come loose, but all parts remain intact. The original cement, paint, and brush are also included, though they show visible signs of age from long-term storage. The set comes in its original 1957 packaging, which features the vibrant and dramatic box art that defined Aurora's early branding. The box shows signs of its age, with handling wear along the edges and corners, creasing in the front lower left corner, writing above the word "Indian" on the top edge, and noticeable scuffing and scratching throughout. The bottom panel displays staining across the center, with additional creasing in the upper corners and lower right corner. Despite the wear, this rare duo remains a vivid time capsule from Aurora's early history and a highly collectible piece of vintage modeling heritage.
