2016 Dan Armstrong 50th Anniversary Prototype Natural Solid Body Electric Guitar.
Our consignor first met Dan Armstrong in his shop on West 48th Street, New York City, in 1966 when he was modifying Danelectro guitars. He saw the first of the famous Lucite guitars that would hit the market three years later under the Ampeg brand. Dan eventually moved to London, where he started production of the "London" model 341.
In 2016 our consignor located and purchased the last 58 of the "London" bodies and a few necks that were hidden in a closet for almost 40 years. Kent Armstrong did all the pickups and wiring.
This guitar features a split flame maple top and a Gibson-style setup. Custom built by Pierre Patenaude as a studio recording guitar with incredible sustain. Has a few minor scuffs, dings and slight imperfections. 8.8lbs. Hard case included. Condition: Very Good.
