Description

Standel Model 25L15 Electric Guitar Amplifier (1954). Condition: Very Good.
Although not that well known today, Standel amps were the best of the best in the mid-1950s, and featured many innovations that later turned up in amplifiers made by Fender and others. Each one was hand-made by order, and only 50 or so model 25L15 amps were made. The roster of owners includes Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Hank Thompson, Hank Garland, and more. This particular amp has the serial number 1010, making it the tenth amp built after the initial prototype. Former owners of the amp include Jerry Miller of Moby Grape, and Paul Yandell, former sideman to Chet Atkins. The fabric covering has been replaced, but everything else remains original, and the amp is in good working order. From the Russ Cochran Guitar Archive.
