Description
Elvis Presley's Personally Owned Roustabout Rare Acetate and Memorabilia Group (1964). This collection from The Graceland Archives is a treasure trove of music and memorabilia associated with Elvis' 16th full-length film, Roustabout. Included are 14 one-sided 10" 33 1/3 rpm acetates bearing a blue Electro-Vox label, most of which are demos of songs used in the movie; they are not performed by Elvis, although most emulate the King for the full effect. One is more than a demo -- it's the Coasters' original hit version of "Little Egypt" that Elvis sang in the movie. Also in the collection: a two-sided 12" 33 1/3 acetate of the Roustabout soundtrack (on RCA's Reference Recording label); a two-sided 10" 33 1/3 acetate of "One Track Heart" (take 5)/ "Big Love, Big Heartache" (take 17) on a Universal and Radio Recorders label; and a one-sided 10" 33 1/3 rpm acetate of ""Roustabout" (take 17) on an EMC label.
We're just getting started! Check out the ultra-rare promotional mailer for the promo white label 45 rpm copy of "Roustabout"/ "One Track Heart" (RCA SP-45-139, 1964), both of which we're also offering, plus a mailing envelope for the 12" acetate of the album, which bears the stamped return address of Thomas A. Parker.
There is also a 10-page Production Information and Synopsis of the movie from Paramount Pictures. Topping off the collection are 13 pieces of sheet music, representing all 11 tunes from the movie, plus "Shout It Out" and "Carnival of Dreams," the former showing up in Elvis' 1966 movie Frankie and Johnny.
Truly a unique collection! And like many of our Elvis prizes, this is offered without reserves. COA from the Estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland.
