The Beatles Collection Limited Edition Box Set Number 0001, Still Sealed (EMI BC13, 1978). This great box set made expressly for the U.S. contains the UK versions of the albums Please Please Me, With the Beatles, Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Beatles (aka The White Album), Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, Let It Be, and Rarities. That's fourteen discs in all (The White Album is a two-record set). Included is a handwritten Letter of Authenticity dated September 27, 1989, from Clifford J. Yamasaki of Let It Be Records in San Francisco. It reads, in part: "This is to certify that ___ purchased the Beatles Collection Box Set BC-13 Numbered 0001 is Sealed condition on this date. There were 3,500 numbered sets made for sale to the public in December 1978. To the best of my knowledge, there are approximately one dozen Number 0001 box sets given to Capitol executives. I certify this to be correct as stated." The "Limited Edition" sticker is still on the front shrinkwrap, and the promo song selection sticker is still on the back shrinkwrap. There is a torn area on the back shrinkwrap that is being protected with a taped-on poly sheet. That's the only minor flaw in this super desirable set.
