A Gladys Glad Painting by John Decker, 1947. Rendered in oil on canvas, depicting a beautiful image of the former 1920s-era Ziegfeld Follies star, signed in the lower right corner "John Decker 47" [the noted Hollywood painter and 'bad boy about town']; in its original frame with an affixed placard reading "Gladys by John Decker 1947;" included is a reprinted image of Glad and her second husband, Arthur Gottlieb, with this painting in situ. (Please note there is mild age cracking to surface.) Requires third party shipping.

PROVENANCE:
This was John Decker's last portrait, painted and delivered to Gladys Glad mere weeks before he died in June, 1947. The piece was displayed only once at a John Decker retrospective in 1948, and has since been with Glad family until now; it was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by Glad's nephew, Charles Glad, who inherited it from his aunt.
