Description

Vintage Telephone Table From the Presley's Audubon Drive Home in Memphis. In March of 1956, Elvis took some of the royalty money from his first national hit, Heartbreak Hotel, and bought a new home for himself and his parents. The 21-year old singer found a nice suburban house east of downtown Memphis, and his family settled in while he went out on tour. They stayed a brief 13 months at 1034 Audubon Drive before adoring fans made privacy impossible, and Elvis next purchased Graceland, a much more secluded and secure place for the star and his family to stay.

This combination wooden seat and telephone table came from the Audubon house, and was used by Elvis, Gladys, and Vernon in the Presley living room. One can picture Elvis slouching on the green vinyl cushioned seat talking to Colonel Parker, or Gladys clutching the phone as she sat speaking to her son out on the road. The table measures 30" x 28" x 16", and is in Very Fine condition with some areas of wear and chipped paint. The vintage black rotary dial phone pictured on the table is included, but was not from the Presley estate. COA from the Estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland.
