Description

Elvis Presley Owned Honorary Certificate Presented To Him By Governor Of Alabama George C. Wallace. (1974). Printed certificate with 'The Governor of the / State of Alabama" and decorative Coat of Arms with text "...Elvis Presley I do hereby appoint him an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Aide-de-Camp in the Alabama State Militia to rank as such from the sixth day of March nineteen hundred and seventy-four". The document is signed in blue ink by George C. Wallace, "Governor of Alabama / Commander in Chief." Measures 11' x 14". In Fine condition, with some creasing and bending to the paper. Elvis and four time Presidential candidate George Wallace first met in March 1974 at Garrett Coliseum when Wallace and his wife attended his concert in Auburn. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
