Description

Herman's Hermits, Animals 1966 Dallas, TX Concert Handbill. An original paper concert flyer advertising two British Invasion groups, Herman's Hermits and The Animals with Eric Burdon, playing one show at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium on Saturday night, July 16, 1966.

We'll just say it straight: This has to be one of the best-looking concert handbills for anyone from the 1960's or, for that matter, anytime. Look at the creativity that went into this! The 10 "floating heads" in the two five-man groups are cleverly placed on cartoon bodies, and it works like a charm. And have you noticed? HH lead singer Peter Noone is... leaning on a lamppost. Anyone who likes 60's pop music and cool graphics just has to go for this one. And it's pretty rare, definitely a first-ever Heritage offering, and the only one this writer has ever seen.

Printed on glossy yellow stock, this handbill measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. The upper right corner has some soiling discoloration. The upper left corner some barely visible discoloration. Lower left corner has a tiny tip crease and a larger, gentler one that goes through the border but doesn't break color and in fact, barely shows. The verso has a brown strip of discoloration that gets wider and darker as it goes down, and a couple of small figures written lightly in pencil in the upper right corner area.
