Description

Quicksilver Messenger Service, James Cotton Blues Band 1967 Continental Ballroom Concert Poster. An original first-printing San Francisco Bay-Area concert poster advertising a generous four acts playing in Santa Clara, CA on Friday and Saturday nights, August 4 & 5, 1967. Besides Quicksilver and Cotton, the other two entertainers were the Congress of Wonders and Ace of Cups. The intriguing psychedelic artwork was executed by "Grasshopper," with a small "#5" following his name, so perhaps this was the fifth poster he designed. You can certainly sense the artist's homage to Mouse up in the big city. Showtime was 8 PM to 1 AM and admission was $2.50.

Measures 13 7/8" x 19 5/8" and grades to Mint condition. From the KC Murphy Bindweed Press Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
