Description

The Animals (with Eric Burdon) 1965 Anaheim, CA Concert Handbill. An original paper advertising flyer still on the heels of the British Invasion for England's Animals performing at the Melodyland Theatre ("Opposite Disneyland") in Anaheim, California on Monday night, September 20, 1965. Opening acts were the Challengers and Cannibal and the Headhunters. The Animals' current hit single was "We Gotta Get Out of This Place."

The photo on this attractive purple & black handbill shows Burdon on the far right, and bassist Chas Chandler on the telephone in the British phonebooth. As many of you know, Chandler left the Animals at their hit-making peak and went on the help form the Jimi Hendrix Experience in London in 1967.

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 6" x 9" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. The piece has uneven toning to it, which is still fine on the front but becomes more evident on the back. And "1965" is written lightly in pencil in the upper left corner. COA from Heritage Auctions.
