Velvet Underground, Sly & the Family Stone 1968 Shrine L.A. Concert Poster (AOR-3.70). An original first-printing Los Angeles concert poster for the diverse line-up of the Velvet Underground, Sly & the Family Stone and the Butterfield Blues Band playing at the Shrine Auditorium (Expo Hall) on Friday and Saturday nights, July 12 & 13, 1968.

The artwork by Neon Park made it quite a challenge to figure just what those oozing yellow letters said - all part of the fun of the day. Pinnacle was the promoter, but only mentioned in tiny letters at the bottom.

Measures 15 7/8" x 26 7/8" and grades to Very Good condition. Poster has a few very light 'finger bends' to the glossy cardstock from handling over the years. There is also a 13" light horizontal surface scratch going across the poster, through the top of the "July" letters and out the "E" of "Shrine." It crosses over most of the various red columns, but not the two outer bright red ones. COA from Heritage Auctions.
