Rick Griffin Lot of (8) 1960's Vintage Berkeley Bonaparte Head Shop Posters. This lot consists of eight headshop posters from the 1960's as drawn by legendary graphic artist Rick Griffin. They were printed and distributed by the Berkeley Bonaparte poster company back in the day, a collective that featured the involvement of the best San Francisco poster artists.

Griffin, of course, was simultaneously creating concert posters of legendary stature such as the BG-105 Jimi Hendrix Experience "flying eyeball" poster for Bill Graham, and "Aoxomoxoa" for the Grateful Dead. But this selection was created to be sold and provide a revenue stream for the otherwise starving San Francisco poster artists.

Gathered here are "In God We Trust," "Pow-Wow: A Gathering of the Tribes Human Be-In," "The Oracle," "Lucifer Rising," "A Puff of Kief in the Morning," "My Eyes Have Seen the Glory," "The New and Improved Psychedelic Shop" and "Huichol / Mescalito Indian."

Each poster measures in the neighborhood of 14" x 20" and grade from Near Mint Minus to Very Good Plus. COA from Heritage Auctions.
