Description

Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin w/BBHC Lot of (5) Vintage Head Shop Posters. This lot consists of five vintage head-shop or "personality" posters printed by Berkeley Bonaparte in the Bay Area in the late Sixties for sale in record stores, head shops and through mail-order. The four musician posters depict the Grateful Dead, Dead keyboardist Pig Pen, Janis Joplin of Big Brother and the Holding Company, and James Gurley, lead guitarist for that group. Also included is a commercial reprint of Wes Wilson's first-ever poster effort, "Are We Next?" in a printing also dating back to that decade.

Those four posters measure in the neighborhood of 23" x 34" and grade from Near Mint Minus to Very Good Plus. The color Wilson poster measures 19" x 35" and grades to Mint. COA from Heritage Auctions.
