Description
Barry Manilow Worn Costume Featured On Live Album Cover (1977). This is a suit worn by Barry Manilow, most notably featured on the cover of his 1977 live album, Live. Original (3) piece costume including (1) spandex V-neck long-sleeved shirt with blue sleeves and silver, blue, and orange striped front torso, heavily embellished with round metal-set blue, orange, and yellow rhinestones in a gradient pattern down the front and up the sleeves, and a zip closure down the left side of the torso, (1) pair of blue twill trousers with 2-rows of clear rhinestones running down the outside of the legs, silver woven front faux pockets, and a blank Western Costume Company bias label, and (1) silver metallic belt with rectangular rhinestone-embellished buckle. Costume exhibits wear and age, including pilling/snagging of the spandex and discoloration on the underarms. The leather lining on the belt is separating. Comes with a vintage pressing of the double album on vinyl with hype stickers and (2) music books featuring sheet music for the concert songs for display purposes. Provenance: From the collection of producer Paul Brownstein who served as Barry Manilow's assistant from 1978-1981.
