Independence Day (TCF, 1996), Will Smith "Steven Hiller" Flight Suit and Gloves. Original (2) piece costume ensemble including (1) olive drab Nomex-brand cotton-blend USMC F-18 pilot flight suit with utility pockets, angled zipper breast pockets, vertical welt pockets across the pant leg hems, and Velcro adjusting bands at the waist and wrists, adorned with a squadron patch and "Steven Hiller / Capt USMC" name patch across the chest and aircraft patch on the right sleeve, retaining handwritten "Will" bias label in black ink across the inside neckline, and (1) pair of green cotton gloves with gray leather along the palms and fourchettes, retaining handwritten "Will" bias label in red marker on both wrists. Independence Day is touted as a cultural epoch of the '90s, bringing with it a surge of American nationalism and a resurgence of the disaster film genre. Captain Steven Hiller (Will Smith) dons the flight suit during the initial flight orientation and when he greets the alien by punching it in the face after engaging it in aerial combat. Exhibits general production age and wear, overall presenting well. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
