The Frighteners (Universal, 1996), John Astin "The Judge" Head Casting Display from Original Studio Molds. Head casting made from the original molds for The Judge (John Astin) in Peter Jackson's The Frighteners, constructed of cast latex foam rubber and expertly painted in ghostly grays and blacks, with netted lifelike scraggly white hair and applied facial hair and green acrylic eyes. Wrinkled and mottled skin and decrepit teeth jutting out from a rotted mouth complete The Judge's ghastly appearance. Measuring 11" x 16" x 12" including the lengths of hair. Peter Jackson's last film before endeavoring on his Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Frighteners was a supernatural comedy horror starring Michael J. Fox as an architect who communicates with ghosts and investigates the appearance of a former mass murderer now returning as the Grim Reaper (Jake Busey). Head cast is pulled from the original molds from the film and is affixed to a polyfoam bust painted to match the flesh tones of the head cast. Displays some signs of age and wear including spots of flaking to the latex and foam and some faded paint throughout. Overall an incredibly lifelike display form. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
