Fred Roos' Group of (19) Awards, Accolades, and Commemorative Plaques. Throughout his remarkable career, Academy Award-winning producer Fred Roos received numerous honors recognizing his lasting impact on film . In addition to his Oscar win for The Godfather Part II, Roos was acknowledged by film festivals, industry guilds, academic institutions, and national organizations. Offered here is a group of (9) awards and commemorative plaques spanning decades of his professional life, including (1) Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Antonio Film Festival, in a black metal and glass frame, (1) Film Advisory Board Award for The Black Stallion Returns (February 1983), (1) AFI 100 Years, 100 Cheers Award for The Black Stallion, (1) Black Stallion poster design mounted on a wooden plaque, (1) framed press release for The Godfather Part II featuring the "Godfather Family Tree," with actor headshots and the notation "C-F-11-SPEC-1," possibly a proof copy, (1) University of Southern California "Chancellor's Associate" Award with Roos' name in raised font, decorative panels on four sides, and a raised USC seal on the wooden top, (1) Silver State Silver Screen Award from the Reno Film Festival, presented by the Nevada Film Office and dated November 6, 2004, (1) National Ace Award for Best Documentary Special for Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, crediting Roos as Executive Producer, and (1) curved glass award with sandblasted text reading "National Board of Review / 2010 / Top 10 Independent Films / Somewhere." Also comes with (1) Paramount Pictures Identification Badge, featuring the producer's likeness and Paramount logo, and (1) office key measuring 6" x 1", with Paramount Pictures engraving and serial number. Also included are (3) Director's Guild of America Awards Dinner trophies, each topped with a gold-colored director's chair and dated March 16, 1991, March 14, 1992, and January 25, 2020, with Roos' name etched on the base plates, and (2) Christopher Awards made of brass with the inscription "Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness", 1-a standalone piece reading "Fred Roos / 1979 / The Black Stallion," the other 1-mounted on a black acrylic base inscribed "Fred Roos / St. Vincent (2014)." These awards reflect the breadth and depth of Fred Roos' contributions to the film industry and the wide recognition he earned across his storied career. The key opened the door to Francis Ford Coppola's office at Paramount Pictures, which had reportedly belonged to director Alfred Hitchcock before him. Awards measure between approx. 3" x 4" x 4.5" and 15" x 12" x 1" and exhibit expected handling and display wear, including minor scuffing; one director's chair shows signs of repair.
