Cosmos: A Personal Voyage (PBS, 1980-1981), Original Backdrop Artwork from Episode "Journeys in Space and Time". Original artwork by David Egge used in Carl Sagan's groundbreaking PBS program Cosmos, accomplished in acrylic and airbrush on artist's board. Entitled "The Ring Nebula in Lyra", the 10.5" x 14.5" backdrop artwork appears in Episode 8, "Journeys in Space and Time" and depicts the rocky, mountainous landscape of a foreign planet with the red, yellow, and green constellation Lyra off the horizon. Signed on the recto and signed and titled on the verso in black felt-tip. Sagan's Cosmos program was an instant success and went on to win two Emmys and a Peabody Award. Painting is unframed and exhibits mild edgewear. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
