Description

Miles Davis 1970 Painter's Mill Music Fair Elaborate Psychedelic Concert Poster. An original, large cardboard window card advertising jazz and trumpet legend Miles Davis performing at the Painters Mill Music Fair near Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday night, January 10, 1970.

Poster artist Michael Goldberg's artwork for this poster is incredibly intricate, full of elements from the Age of Aquarius which was the movement of the day. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny circles surrounding the human figures in the bottom half of the poster, one of many alluring aspects of this poster art. This first-ever Heritage offering measures 21 1/2" x 31 3/4" and grades to restored Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Interestingly, the opening act had originally been just Redbone, listed right under Miles. But apparently Biff Rose 'N Harbour joined the bill and the artist felt they needed to be presented symmetrically. So the centered Redbone got covered over and the two support acts were then listed on either side.

Condition details: Chameleon Restoration addressed a few edge and corner issues, touching up any printing where necessary, mending pinholes, eradicating surface blemishes and greatly reducing any creasing it might have had. The result is a highly satisfying piece with little or no evidence of past damage.
