Description

Buffalo Springfield 1968 Concert Poster - Last Show with Neil Young & Stephen Stills. An original first-printing paper advertising poster - with psychedelic artwork by Bob Masse - for the Buffalo Springfield in concert in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, May 5, 1968. This was the final show the band would ever play with members Neil Young and Stephen Stills, the creative core of the group. (Not counting a few reunion shows in 2011.)

Under the banner of "Electric Carnival," other bands who joined the show included Country Joe & the Fish, although Masse accidentally left the "T" out of "Country"; boogie-blues legends Canned Heat; Uni Records power trio The Hook; and L.A. blues-rock band Smokestack Lightnin', veterans of the Sunset Strip. Measures 17" x 22 1/2" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Things were still simple back then; the show was "Presented by Concerts Inc.," and ticket locations (given at the very bottom) were simply the box office, Wallich's Music City stores and all Mutual Ticket agencies.

Condition details: Poster had damage to the upper right blue area, which Chameleon Restoration fixed up to make the poster whole and attractive. There remains a little unevenness to the blue color in that area. Also a little bit of mending down on the right margin down through the green, yellow and red colors, but only a little. One more thing: there's a random pinhole in the "O" in "Omega" in the "Omega's Eye Lightshow" logo in the lower right.
