Description

FD-64 The Doors 1967 Final Avalon Ballroom Concert Poster Signed by Victor Moscoso, Graded 9.8. First-printing San Francisco concert poster for The Doors, the [Steve] Miller Blues Band and the Daily Flash playing on differing nights at the Avalon Ballroom over Thursday thru Sunday nights, June 1-4, 1967. After Miller headlined Thursday and Friday, the Doors took over the top spot on Saturday & Sunday for their fourth & final Avalon appearance, with Miller opening for them. To demonstrate how early & naïve this still was, the next night the Doors played at Beverly Hills High School.

Known as FD-64 in the Family Dog numbered series, this poster was designed by Victor Moscoso and has been signed by him down in the ticket-information strip. Measuring 14" x 20" and nicknamed "Pink Panther," it was awarded a tickled-pink 9.8 Near Mint/Mint grade by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
