Description
Brian Wilson Signed Robert August Longboard Made for That Lucky Old Sun Promotional Campaign (2008). "Let's go surfin' nowEverybody's learnin' how
Come on and safari with me"
Penned by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, the opening title cut from the Beach Boys' debut album Surfin' Safari has resonated since its release in 1962. Taking the rock n' roll stylings of Chuck Berry and his contemporaries, the Wilson brothers, Mike Love, David Marks, and Al Jardine redirected that sound to be specific to sounds of coastal life. Surfing, cars, girls, and the sun - all elements that made the world fall in love with the Beach Boys. Even though most of the band didn't surf (only Dennis Wilson surfed), they captured a vibe of fun and peace living in an endless summer.
Offered here is a full-sized surfboard (made by the industry leader Robert August) - and it's a perfect addition to any Beach Boys collector.
This is an unused, yellow-colored, full-size longboard signed with a black felt tip by Brian Wilson as well as Robert August.
This board was made in promotion for Brian Wilson's 2008 solo album, That Lucky Old Sun, an album that served as a tribute to Wilson's early years with his brothers, cousin, and friends.
Gifted to longtime Wilson touring member (with and without the Beach Boys), Jeffrey Foskett. Measures over 9 feet in length and in unused Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
