Frances Fisher "Ruth Dewitt Bukater" screen-used silk handbag from Titanic. (TCF, 1997) In the epic blockbuster Titanic Frances Fisher plays the fictitious character "Ruth Dewitt Bukater". While Bukater wasn't an actual historical figure, she moves with the other elite, 1st class passengers in the film, appearing in opulent fashion and accessories throughout. Here is a vintage handbag visible on the third day of the doomed voyage when Fisher and her party are above deck. Consisting of a cream silk, pouch-style handbag with tan round celluloid lid (mirror on the verso) and silver metal ball and ring snap closure. Matching fabric handle. Pleated edging and tassel at the bottom. Retaining costumer's tag marked, "Ruth" and "Frances Fisher". In vintage very good condition.
