Fred Gwynne "Herman Munster" prop plaster head from Episode: "Prehistoric Munster" from The Munsters. (CBS, 1964-1966) Vintage original cast and sculpted heavy hollow bust measuring 10 x 15 x 7.5 in. Constructed of core plaster lifecast of Fred Gwynne in "Herman Munster" makeup and with sculpted hair and added metal neck bolts to complete the character likeness. The detailed lifecast retains every wrinkle and pore from the actor's face. The bust sets upon an integral round pedestal. Highly visible being sculpted by "Marilyn Munster" (Pat Priest) in the episode "Prehistoric Munster". On screen, the bust appears as raw clay and in various states of progress. Following its use on the show, the studio finished the sculpture to greater detail for a series of promotional photos and it was antiqued with paint to appear like bronze for display. Exhibiting minor wear and age. An iconic character visage that hits all the genre marks; classic Universal Monster character makeup originated by Jack Pierce, reimagined and applied by Bud Westmore, worn by Fred Gwynne as "Herman" in The Munsters, the most beloved monster series of all time. In vintage fine condition.
