The prolific horror label up to this point had primarily produced sex comedies, but found a new path with The Toxic Avenger. Toxie begins his journey as a 98-pound nerd who lands in a vat of toxic waste and emerges as the benevolent monster, The Toxic Avenger, "the first super hero from New Jersey!"
