Gene Hackman "Jimmy 'Popeye' Doyle" Colt Detective Special .38 CTG revolver from The French Connection. (TCF, 1971) Vintage original Colt Detective Spec .38 Special CTG revolver with dark grey metal frame, 6-round cylinder and dark brown wooden grip. Serial number, "977210". Colt logo is found on both sides of the grip in silver and also etched onto the left side of frame behind cylinder. Inscription can be found on proper left side of barrel that reads "Detective Spec / .38 Special CTG". When cylinder of gun is opened the serial number "977210" is imprinted twice. The number "320" can be found engraved on the back strap of the butt of gun. The action functions, while the chambers and barrel have been bored out to make the gun inoperable.
