Description
Silver Loving Cup presented to Francis Ford, 1919, for The Silent Mystery. (1919) Francis Ford was a prolific early film actor, writer and director. He was also the older brother and mentor of legendary director to be, John Ford. Through the years the brothers often appeared in each other's films. This is a sterling silver plated "Loving Cup" presented to Francis Ford by the cast of his film, The Silent Mystery. Consisting of a 13 in. tall by 11 in. wide trophy loving cup on footed pedestal and with jug handles on either side of the bowl. The front of the cup is inscribed, "Presented to Francis Ford by his company in the production of 'The Silent Mystery' wherein the personal qualities and comradship of "The Boss" has indelibly endeared him to each and every one with lasting love, affection and respect Los Angeles, Cal. February 20th, 1919" on the verso is inscribed the names of cast and crew including, Rosemary Theby, Harry Ellis Dean, Nell Dean, Mo Thwaites, Harry Horsley, Mae Gaston, Pete Gerald, Phil Ford, Jerry Ash, V. Olivio, Louis Burston, Wm. Horsley, Max Goldberg, T. E. Bradshaw, Frank Crompton, L. J. Kandford, Chas. Gay, Vic Goss, John Ford, W. F. Ludlum, Maurice Downes and John Ho Dean. With signs of age and oxidization. Legible and without damage.
