Original matte painting from This Time for Keeps. (MGM, 1947) Vintage color matte painting accomplished in colored pencil, pastels, gouache, paste up elements, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board with glass insert. Depicting a marquee for the "Bathing Beauties Aqua Capers" above a cityscape with a central image of Esther Williams in the aqua-musical This Time for Keeps starring Williams and Jimmy Durante. Windows are cut out of the painting exposing glass painted with elements to be illuminated from behind. With handwritten technical specs, scenic notes and test paint daubs in lower border. Exhibiting signs of production-use and age. Interior glass pane is cracked but intact. Overall in vintage, fair to good condition presenting well for display.
