Original matte painting from Shadow of a Doubt. (MGM, 1943) Vintage black and white matte painting accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting scaffolding on the face of an office building for the psychological thriller Shadow of a Doubt starring Joseph Cotton and Theresa Wright. With area of upper right corner of the image blacked-out for post-production keying in of live-action footage. With handwritten technical specs and scenic notes in the upper right of painting. Exhibiting minor signs of production-use and age. Overall in vintage, very good condition.
